Designing and drawings
Introduction
The works on this page are either school works or some artworks and self-initiated art projects made in my free time. These experiences and practice contribute a lot for improving my design works. I like trying different drawing methods and materials, different styles like realism and abstraction. I'll continue learning and experimenting more to gain more experience and enjoyment.
"Thrive" - typeface design
"Thrive" was an organic, aesthetic, and decorative serif typeface that evolved from my handwriting. It was edited and published by Glyphs 3. It's a display typeface that will work better when being applied to dynamic themes and paired with other serif typefaces as text typefaces (like Baskerville, Athelas, and Garamond). There were also three promotional posters I made in Illustrator to show the applicable colors and themes.

"The Tilted Chairs" - installation design
"The Tilted Chairs" was an installation design representing the physical data manifestation of the percentage of the population fully vaccinated during the COVID-19 period in three countries: Portugal, the United States, and Iraq. The data were visualized through the tilted angle between the back of the chair and the ground. A lower vaccination percentage corresponded to a lower tilt angle, creating a sense of instability for those sitting in the chairs. This sensation of almost falling aimed to convey the dangers of a low fully vaccinated population.
For the creation process, I used Illustrator to sketch my rough ideas. Then, I constructed wooden stands to place behind the chairs using lumber, nails, and hinges, with the help of my grandfather. Finally, I shot a video and took photos of the audience participation, editing the photos in Photoshop.

"Flying Kirby" - coding and design
This is a small school project while learning coding. I created a simple game called “Flying Kirby” by mimicking “Flappy Bird”. The whole structure was similar to it except for some encouraging words and specific scene learned from “Kirby and the Forgotten Land”. I also created some visual elements using Illustrator and Photoshop, and added sound effects sourced online to make it more engaging. After writing the code in Visual Studio Code, I uploaded the code on GitHub to publish the website.

I recommend to play it on Chrome on laptop or computer : )
